Ten years ago,
if someone told me that Donald J. Trump, the wealthy celebrity playboy, would become the President of the Most Powerful Country in the History of Mankind, I would have laughed along with most people. From his initial entry into politics to his rise as a prominent Republican candidate, he was mocked and underestimated. But what many didn’t realize was that he was an experienced, charismatic businessman with billions of dollars. Celebrities, including Obama, underestimated him, perhaps with good reason. He lacked political or legislative experience, which raised the question: how much of this is necessary to be “presidential”?
His early appearances and rallies sparked controversy, with accusations of calling Mexicans rapists and mocking a handicapped reporter. This was the narrative presented by the media, and many formed their opinion based on these edited clips. However, we often fail to consider the context and crucial aspects of the truth. It’s a classic case of lie by omission, where important information is left out.
It’s important to question the validity of these clips and soundbites and seek a deeper understanding. Instead of relying solely on edited content, we should engage in our own research and listen to unedited speeches to form a more informed opinion.
Faults of man
Trump, criticized for initially failing to condemn white supremacists at the confederate marches, later returned to fully denounce them. It’s important to condemn faults, regardless of political stance, to preserve the future of our nation. Before 2016, I favored Obama, then Sanders, and disliked Trump. Obama seemed professional and played it safe, while Sanders appeared helpful. However, I realized Sanders’ approach of using others’ money to help the needy wasn’t truly nice. Trump, on the other hand, speaks his mind without filtering the truth. People don’t want filtered politicians who only tell us what we want to hear. Trump didn’t need politics; he already had wealth and power. He aimed to drain the swamp, remove corrupt politicians, and as a successful businessman, understood the government’s power. If favors are available, corporations will seek them. Blame the government for having that power, not the corporations.
America First
Trump is often criticized for religious intolerance, despite his support for Christian values and the importance of the Bible. He also acknowledges the role of our founding fathers and the Constitution in shaping the success and diversity of our nation, yet faces accusations of being a white supremacist due to their history with slavery.
Looking ahead, some believe that in the future, we will view abortion as a form of legal genocide. Advancements in science illuminate the beginnings of life at earlier stages, potentially leading to a scientific consensus that life begins at conception. This perspective raises questions about the Women’s Rights movement and the victims who never had a chance at life.
Despite any flaws, Trump prioritizes America First, upholds the values that built the country, and stands for God. He advocates for legal immigration, racial and religious equality, economic freedom, and prosperity for all citizens. Regardless of personal criticisms, if someone is willing to risk everything for a just cause, the future of the nation, and for God, they deserve protection.
Before forming conclusions about anyone you don’t know, it’s important to do your own research and be aware of how the media and trusted sources may have influenced your perception.
